Pain in knee and leg

Monday, July 25th, 2011

My mother, who is 90 years old, had terrible pain in her knee and leg, which almost incapacitated her. After trying all kinds of western medical solutions, none of which had any effect, we found Dr. Li at the Center for Holistic Health. Using a combination of acupuncture, moxibustion, and herbs, Dr. Li’s treatment was effective upon the very first visit. After continued treatment, my mom’s pain was not only completely gone, but she felt and walked better than before this all started.

We highly recommend Dr. Li!!

Migraine Headache, Plantar fasciitis

Monday, July 25th, 2011

I began to see Dr. Jiang Li after a month of bad headaches and several back-to-back migraine attacks. In addition, I have been suffering with plantar fasciitis in my right foot for the last year. I have never done acupuncture before, but had heard positive things and was willing to try anything to get some relief. I am thankful that I tried acupuncture, and am especially thankful to have found Dr. Li.

On my first appointment, Dr. Li was very thorough and I felt as though she truly understood my needs. After several sessions, I was back to my normal self. No more headaches and I am back to running with no foot pain. I would highly recommend Dr. Li. It is evident after you meet her that she is highly trained, knowledgeable, and skilled, with years of experience in performing acupuncture. I know that I will use her again in the future.

Rheumatoid arthritis

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011

I would like to write a letter to convey the significant relief I have experienced from Dr. Li’s careful work on my rheumatoid arthritis. From the attentive listening at her intake to her thorough & thoughtful treatments, her interventions have made as much difference in my functioning as have decades of traditional Western Medicine.  Each patient’s body and place in life is treated in its particularity. Her predictions of when I would feel better are always spot on. I partly owe my continued participation in my family life and my professional work to Dr. Li’s finesse and clinical acumen. I would refer to her without reservation.

Sometime in March I started getting headaches that would last all day. At first I thought it was the pollen. They continued into April, May and June. In June is when I went to my doctor who referred me to a neurologist.

The neurologist ordered an MRI, which didn’t show any problems. She put me on some medicine that did not worked. The neurologist put me on another medication. When I picked up the prescription I went on the internet and started reading about all the side effects. The people that were talking about the side effects were on other medication for other things, so I thought that maybe that was what they were feeling. I only took it for 3 days, 25mg, and on the 4th day I felt like I was in a fog for most of the day. I mentioned this to a person I ride the bus with and she suggested acupuncture.

I went home that afternoon and looked on the internet and found Dr.Li. I made my appointment and I immediately had relief from the headaches. With the acupuncture and natural herbs, I am virtually headache free.

A co-worker of mine was telling me about her aunt who had severe back pain. I mentioned that I was doing acupuncture and how much it helped me. She convinced her aunt to go. My co-worker told me that after one session her aunt’s pain has been dramatically reduced.

Thank you Dr. Li for getting rid of my pain.

Chronic digestive problem

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011

I turned to acupuncture as a desperate measure. After years of trying to control chronic digestive problems with supplements, modified diet, and allergen avoidance, I was willing to try anything. I found Dr. Li and began with acupuncture treatments. I have found much more relief than relying solely on western medicine. I only wish I would have tried acupuncture long before I did.

Excessive menstrual bleeding

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011

I turned 42 and suddenly my cycle went haywire. I read a book and thought that natural progesterone cream would help. When that didn’t help, I went to see a naturopath who recommended live juices, kelp and tonics. Then, I went for an annual with my gynecologist where she put me on Provera.  Finally, panicked and weak, one Friday afternoon I called Dr. Jiang Li’s office hoping to get an appointment sometime next week. Much to my surprise, Dr. Li called me back and got me in that day. I started acupuncture treatment that day. I went again for acupuncture the next day. Finally, after 63 days of being on my cycle, of experiencing my body as a runaway train, my cycle ended. Dr. Li explained that my body needed to be brought gently back into balance. And, gradually it has been brought back into balance. The regular acupuncture treatments have me sleep deeper and want healthy, lighter foods. I am very grateful to Dr. Li for a renewed sense of health.

I am infinitely grateful to Dr. Jiang Li, who has been my physician for the past 10 years. She has treated me for health issues ranging from the common cold to constipation, from endocrine imbalances to fertility treatments. Not only have I experienced successful results from the treatments, including acupuncture, auricular therapy, diet and herbs, I have also felt uplifted and supported by Jiang Li’s genuinely warm and caring way.  It is apparent in her gentle touch, observant assessment, and thorough treatment plans that she is fully invested in and capable of supporting her clients’ well-being. I always leave the office feeling a greater sense of my own vitality and healing capacity, and big appreciation for Dr. Jiang Li!

Menopausal symptom and anxiety

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011

I cannot say enough about Jiang Li’s gentle, healing presence. Her quiet way was such a comfort to me when I was faced with having to travel abroad and was dealing with disquieting menopausal symptoms. The occasional hot-flashes and unsettling anxiety were not helped at all by traditional Western hormone therapy. Acupuncture and Chinese herbs, along with Jiang Li’s natural healing ability, turned what could have been a nightmare into a lovely two-week vacation. The sense of trust that I felt has remained and I hope more people will consider this path.
